14 Dec 12 TH GREEK-CYPRIOT SURGICAL CONGRESS
The 12th Greek-Cypriot Surgical Congress was concluded yesterday, December 13th, in Nicosia, with an impressive participation of the 1st Department of Surgery & Organ Transplantation Unit of the G.H.A. “Evangelismos”. Dr. Drakopoulos attended the Congress with 17 abstracts – out of a total of 48 abstracts that were presented at the Congress – of which, all related to Endocrine Surgery were presented by Dr. Nikolaos Roukounakis, Chairman of the Hellenic Society of Endocrine Surgery. Dr. Drakopoulos presented abstracts related to laparoscopic Upper & Lower GI surgery, hepato-biliary laparoscopic surgery, laparoscopic hernia repair, laparoscopic surgery of obesity, while he lectured on the importance of laparoscopic surgery in cases of living donor transplantation, through his abstract on “The first in Greece laparoscopic nephrectomy for Transplantation in Living Donor with prior Laparotomy”.
